Canteen in full swing, seven days a week

Canteen bar before October 15, 2008

On Mr. Toad's Wild Ride,
the runaway car entered the bar precisely
behind the wine cooler, the black vertical
cooler with the Post identification
on the front

(See more pictures below)

Palm Coast's front yard sign

Chow-down every day, but Saturday.

On Saturday, check out the canteen.

Front entry elevation: Open to the public

When the front door is locked,
try the side door members' entrance
to the Canteen, which is open
when the Canteen is open.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride: October 15, 2008
and Pictures from a war zone

After crossing Old King's Road at a high rate of speed, the car bounced over the grader ditch, across the VFW lawn, and entered the bar precisely where the wine cooler sits.

As shown from the inside, the bar and the car from afar.  (Driver's door profile)

The debris field on the right side of the car.

The body is removed for last rites, and burial

Before the clean-up:

Debris field of bar, stools, tables, and chairs

Right end of the bar:  Good as new!

Had someone been sitting at this end of the bar,
they would feel they had enough to drink.

Debris field as seen through the hole:

Note the car spring in the foreground.

Miscellaneous bar accessories

That sinking feeling!

Then the roof caved in.
